Houdini <-> Blender Tool
Houdini and Blender are powerful software tools for 3D modeling, VFX, animation, and more. However, transferring files between these programs can be time-consuming and tedious. That's where this tool comes in - a Python script that allows you to transfer with just a few clicks.
With these tools you have a simple menu to export and import geometry faster between Houdini and Blender. The files will give you a good overview on how to build tools for Houdini, Blender and Python.
This is an extended version on this video. https://youtu.be/dc4g1l4rxOU You will learn to add more functionality to this tool and wrap it up in custom interfaces.
Added:
- Simple Menu for both Houdini and Blender
- Auto creating and checking for FBX exporting
- Checking if Blender and Houdini is installed before running
- Passing FBX location with command line
Includes the following:
- Python scripts for the custom interfaces
- Step-by-step videos on how to use and breakdown of what has been added.
- Document with additional resources
Duration video: +35min
Made in: Houdini 19.5 and Blender 3.4
A basic understanding of Houdini, Blender and Python is recommended.
This will not work with Houdini Apprentice since that version will not output FBX files.
This is a menu to send geometry faster to Houdini and Blender, not a real-time live link
You'll get python scripts and videos
